CVE-2023-35724

Authentication bypass via hard-coded Telnet credentials

Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024

Authentication bypass in D-Link DAP-2622 firmware 1.00 and earlier allows network-adjacent attackers to access the Telnet CLI. The CLI service on TCP port 23 accepts hard-coded credentials embedded in the server program instead of enforcing device-specific authentication. No prior authentication is required, but the attacker must reach the device from an adjacent network; successful login grants CLI access with the credential's privileges.
