Local information disclosure via unchecked bounds
Published Sep 11, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Android 12, 12L, and 13 allows local users to disclose information via Neural Networks ShimConverter processing. The convertSubgraphFromHAL function in ShimConverter.cpp reads beyond a valid buffer because it lacks a bounds check when converting Neural Networks subgraphs. Exploitation requires local access with low privileges but no user interaction, and the consequence is information disclosure without integrity or availability impact.
