CVE-2023-35659

Kernel privilege escalation via undisclosed logic error

Published Nov 13, 2024 · Updated Nov 20, 2024

Local privilege escalation in Android SoC components allows local users to execute arbitrary code in the kernel through the PowerVR GPU driver. DevmemIntChangeSparse in devicemem_server.c contains a logic error, but the faulty operation has not been publicly disclosed. A low-privileged local process can obtain kernel execution without user interaction on devices containing the affected PowerVR GPU component.
