Local information disclosure via Bluetooth union type confusion
Published Sep 4, 2025 · Updated Sep 4, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Android 13 through 15 allows local users to disclose information through the Bluetooth stack. In bta_av_config_ind, a union carrying tBTA_AV_CI_SETCONFIG is passed to bta_av_setconfig_rej, which wrongly treats it as tBTA_AV_STR_MSG and reads beyond the valid member. No additional execution privileges or user interaction are required, and the documented consequence is limited to local information disclosure.
