CVE-2023-35635

System crash via kernel out-of-bounds read

Published Dec 12, 2023 · Updated May 22, 2025

An out-of-bounds read in the Windows kernel in Windows 11 22H2, 22H3, and 23H2 allows local users to crash the system via local input. Microsoft has not published the affected kernel code path or the malformed input that triggers the invalid read. Exploitation requires local access and user interaction, and the documented consequence is loss of system availability rather than data access or modification.
