Reflected XSS via manipulated container endpoint
Published Aug 8, 2023 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Reflected XSS in Apache Hive 2 in Microsoft Azure HDInsight before 2307201242 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts. The Hive Interactive UI accepts a modified container host endpoint and renders a remotely hosted file as HTML without neutralizing script content. Exploitation requires high privileges and user interaction with the crafted URL, allowing attacker-controlled code to run in the victim's browser.
