CVE-2023-35305

Local privilege escalation via kernel heap overflow

Published Jul 11, 2023 · Updated Jan 1, 2025

Heap-based buffer overflow in the Microsoft Windows kernel allows local users on affected builds to elevate privileges. Microsoft identifies the Windows kernel and CWE-122 but has not disclosed the vulnerable function, input, or incorrect memory operation. Exploitation requires prior low-privilege access and can cross the kernel privilege boundary to obtain elevated control of the host.
