Browser script execution via unescaped exception messages
Published Jul 6, 2023 · Updated Oct 31, 2024
Reflected XSS in FOSSBilling before 0.5.4 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser through a crafted request. The global exception handler inserts exception messages into HTML responses without encoding attacker-controlled markup. Exploitation requires user interaction and exposes data or actions available in the victim's FOSSBilling browser context.
