CVE-2023-35181

SYSTEM code execution via permissive installation folders

Published Oct 19, 2023 · Updated Sep 13, 2024

Incorrect default permissions in SolarWinds Access Rights Manager 2023.2.0.73 and earlier allow local users to gain SYSTEM privileges. The installer assigns overly broad permissions to product folders, allowing low-privileged code to modify content used with elevated rights. Exploitation requires prior low-privileged code execution on the Windows host and results in arbitrary code execution as SYSTEM.
