CVE-2023-35177

Denial of service via compact font overflow

Published Jun 30, 2023 · Updated Dec 4, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in the compact font parser in HP LaserJet Pro firmware allows remote attackers to interrupt printing. The parser writes attacker-controlled compact-font data beyond a stack buffer, but HP has not identified the affected routine or exposed field. Exploitation requires adjacent-network access and no authentication; HP identifies denial of service but does not state whether the device hangs, crashes, or reboots.
