Arbitrary code execution via desktop protocol link
Published Jun 22, 2023 · Updated Dec 6, 2024
OS command injection in Dashbit Livebook Desktop 0.8.0 through 0.8.1 and 0.9.0 through 0.9.2 allows remote attackers to execute code. The desktop open-event handler passes a crafted livebook:// URI into browser-opening command logic that invokes the Windows command interpreter without neutralizing command syntax. The target must have an affected Desktop release with the protocol handler registered; execution runs with the local user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
