CVE-2023-3517Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unrestricted JNDI identifiers

Published Dec 12, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Resource injection in Pentaho before 9.3.0.5 and 9.4.0.0 through 9.5.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through XActions. XAction creation accepts unrestricted JNDI identifiers and resolves them as system-level data sources outside the intended control boundary. Low-privileged network access is required; successful exploitation grants access to or modification of sensitive resources and remote code execution.
