Reflected XSS via unvalidated resubmit template URLs
Published Jun 23, 2023 · Updated Nov 27, 2024
Reflected XSS in affected XWiki Platform releases allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted resubmit URL. The resubmit.vm template XML-escapes the resubmit and xback parameters but inserts their unvalidated URL schemes into form action and link href attributes. Affected ranges start at 2.5-milestone-2 and 15.0-rc-1; execution requires a user to open the URL, after which the script runs in that user's XWiki origin and session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
