Unauthenticated account activation via credential flag reset
Published Jun 23, 2023 · Updated Nov 7, 2024
Improper authentication in Knowage Server 6.0.0 through 8.1.7 allows remote attackers to activate newly registered accounts. The anonymous credential endpoint clears the flgPwdBlocked attribute after a valid password change without checking whether email activation occurred. Exploitation requires self-registration and knowledge of the undisplayed endpoint; success grants only normal-user access.
