Stored XSS via incompletely escaped log-file validation
Published Jun 14, 2023 · Updated Jan 2, 2025
Stored XSS in Jenkins Sonargraph Integration Plugin 5.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run script in a victim's browser. SonargraphReportBuilder#doCheckLogFile inserts an xmlEscape-processed path and project-derived URL into single-quoted HTML, but that escaping leaves quote characters able to break out of the attribute. Item/Configure permission, an existing workspace, and victim interaction are required; an administrator victim can expose the controller to code execution.
