Stored XSS via unescaped artifact versions
Published Jun 14, 2023 · Updated Jan 2, 2025
Stored XSS in Jenkins Maven Repository Server Plugin 1.10 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim's browser. Head.generateDirectoryListing inserts attacker-controlled artifact directory and file names into HTML links without output encoding. Job/Configure permission and control of a Maven project's pom.xml are required; viewing the generated repository page executes the stored payload in the viewer's Jenkins session.
