CVE-2023-35142Network attack vector

Traffic interception via disabled certificate validation

Published Jun 14, 2023 · Updated Jan 2, 2025

Improper certificate validation in Jenkins Checkmarx Plugin 2022.4.3 and earlier allows man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept server traffic. The plugin's global SSL/TLS validation setting defaults to disabled, so Checkmarx server connections accept certificates without validating them. Exploitation requires control of the network path and an unchanged default setting; intercepted scan traffic can be read or altered.
