CVE-2023-35141Network attack vector

CSRF protection bypass via context-menu URL escaping

Published Jun 14, 2023 · Updated Jan 2, 2025

CSRF protection bypass in Jenkins 2.399 and earlier and LTS 2.387.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to trigger unintended POST requests. Context-menu URL handling insufficiently escapes user-controlled label expressions, so opening the menu sends a POST to an attacker-chosen endpoint. Item/Configure permission and a victim opening the context menu are required; a forged request can reach sensitive endpoints such as the Script Console.
