CVE-2023-35134Network attack vector

Account takeover via JWT-only password reset

Published Jul 19, 2023 · Updated Oct 28, 2024

Weak password recovery in Weintek Weincloud 0.13.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to reset an account password using its JWT. The Account API accepts the corresponding account's JSON Web Token as the sole proof required to authorize a password reset; no more specific implementation details are public. The request requires the target account's token, and a successful reset permits takeover of that account without the existing password.
