Stored script execution via unsanitized shortcode attributes
Published Aug 30, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in MPEmbed Virtual Inc. WP Matterport Shortcode 2.1.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject browser scripts. The matterport shortcode insufficiently sanitizes user-supplied attributes and outputs them without adequate escaping in stored page or post content. Contributor-level access is required, and the script executes when another user views the affected content, enabling actions in that viewer's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
