Unauthenticated antivirus crash via out-of-bounds write
Published Jul 21, 2023 · Updated Oct 24, 2024
An out-of-bounds write in Ivanti Endpoint Manager before 7.9.1.285 allows remote attackers to crash the antivirus service on Windows. Ivanti has not disclosed the affected antivirus routine or the malformed input that causes the write beyond an allocated buffer. Network access without authentication is sufficient, and the documented consequence is a service crash rather than data disclosure or modification.
