Plugin option modification via missing nonce validation
Published Jul 11, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Drew Phillips Securimage-WP 3.6.16 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify plugin options. The siwp_plugin_options() function accepts state-changing requests without validating a WordPress nonce. Exploitation requires an authenticated site administrator to visit or submit attacker-controlled content, and the bounded consequence is unauthorized changes to several CAPTCHA settings.
