CVE-2023-35012

Instance-owner code execution via federated stack overflow

Published Jul 17, 2023 · Updated Nov 5, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in IBM Db2 11.5 Federated configurations allows local users with SYSADM privileges to execute arbitrary code. Improper bounds checking permits an unspecified federated operation to overrun a stack buffer; IBM has withheld the affected functionality. Exploitation requires local access, SYSADM authority, and an enabled Federated configuration, and code runs with Db2 instance-owner privileges.
