Authentication bypass via replayable cleartext credential structure
Published Sep 5, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Authentication bypass in Open Automation Software OAS Platform 18.00.0072 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to issue privileged requests. The OAS Engine sends its U_EP authentication structure in cleartext and accepts a captured structure in later attacker-crafted requests. Access to legitimate administrator traffic is required; replay grants that account's OAS privileges until the account is deleted.
