Remote account access via unrestricted weak passwords
Published Jul 6, 2023 · Updated Nov 13, 2024
Weak password requirements in PiiGAB M-Bus SoftwarePack 900S allow remote attackers to obtain account access through password guessing. Password-setting validation accepts passwords without complexity requirements, leaving user-chosen weak credentials available to online guessing. Network access to the gateway authentication interface is required, and successful guessing exposes only the permissions of the compromised account.
