Web service restart via unbounded parameter copy
Published Jun 28, 2023 · Updated Dec 5, 2024
Stack overflow in H3C Magic B1ST firmware B1STV100R012 allows remote attackers to restart its web service via a crafted POST request. At /goform/aspForm, AddWlanMacList passes the param field to sscanf with an unbounded %[^;] conversion that copies into stack array v7. The published request uses empty login-state cookie values, and the demonstrated consequence is a webs process restart that interrupts the management interface.
