Web service restart via unbounded sscanf copy
Published Jun 28, 2023 · Updated Nov 27, 2024
Stack overflow in EditMacList in H3C Magic B1ST B1STV100R012 allows remote attackers to restart its web service via a crafted POST request. The handler copies the attacker-controlled param field into four stack arrays with sscanf using an unbounded %[^;] conversion. No authentication or user interaction is required; exploitation restarts the webs process and interrupts the management interface.
