Service interruption via unbounded SSID parameter copy
Published Jun 28, 2023 · Updated Nov 27, 2024
Stack overflow in H3C Magic B1ST firmware B1STV100R012 allows remote attackers to restart its web service via a crafted POST request. The Edit_BasicSSID handler passes the unbounded param field to sscanf with a %[^;] conversion, overflowing the stack array. No authentication or user interaction is required; exploitation restarts the webs process and causes a service interrupt.
