Incorrect authorization in affected GitLab EE releases allows remote authenticated users to change a public top-level group's name or path. The group-subscription PATCH endpoint accepts attacker-supplied group name and path fields without verifying permission to edit the target group. A signed-in account and another user's interaction are required; affected releases are 12.8 through 15.11.10, 16.0 through 16.0.6, and 16.1 through 16.1.1.
