Script execution via unencoded debug-panel variables
Published Jun 30, 2023 · Updated Nov 6, 2024
Reflected XSS in Hestia Control Panel before 1.7.8 allows remote attackers to execute scripts through the debug panel. The debug_panel.php template writes server, session, POST, and GET names and values into HTML without output encoding. A victim must open an attacker-crafted request while debug mode is enabled or the template remains directly accessible, exposing browser-readable panel data.
