CVE-2023-3471

Code execution via crafted configuration file

Published Sep 6, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024

Buffer overflow in Panasonic KW Watcher 1.00 through 2.82 allows local users to execute arbitrary code via a crafted configuration file. The product overflows a memory buffer while processing the file; public advisories do not disclose the parser routine or exact unchecked operation. A user must open an attacker-crafted file, after which code runs with the user's application privileges and can affect data and service availability.
