Authenticated privilege escalation via unchecked role assignment
Published Jun 23, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Improper access control in Elenos ETG 150 firmware 3.12 allows remote authenticated users to create a high-privilege account. The admin-profile user-add operation accepts a caller-supplied high-privilege role without enforcing the caller's lower role. A valid low-privilege session and network access to the management interface are required, after which the created account gains administrative control of the transmitter.
