Insecure deserialization in Greenshot 1.2.10 and earlier allows attackers to execute arbitrary code by inducing a user to open a crafted .greenshot file. The file loader passes an appended .NET object stream to BinaryFormatter, allowing an attacker-controlled gadget chain to instantiate unsafe types during deserialization. Execution occurs with the Greenshot process permissions only after a user opens the file; the default Windows installation associates the file extension with Greenshot.
