Authenticated code execution via unsafe Twig filters
Published Jun 14, 2023 · Updated Dec 18, 2024
Server-side template injection in GetGrav Grav before 1.7.42 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through crafted pages. GravExtension.php leaves Twig's built-in map() and reduce() filters unoverridden, so their callable arguments can invoke unsafe PHP functions. Exploitation requires Grav Admin login plus page creation or update rights and Twig processing, after which commands run in the web server context.
