CVE-2023-34442

Local attachment disclosure via world-readable temporary files

Published Jul 10, 2023 · Updated Oct 7, 2024

Information disclosure in affected Apache Camel JIRA 3.x and 4.x releases allows local users to read attachment data from temporary files. FileConverter wrote byte-array attachment bodies under their supplied names in the shared Java temporary directory instead of securely creating unique temporary files. Exploitation requires a local account on the Camel host and a sensitive attachment to be converted while the resulting file remains accessible.
