CVE-2023-34415Network attack vector

Cross-site data disclosure via redirect process reuse

Published Jun 19, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Site-isolation bypass in Mozilla Firefox before 114 allows remote attackers to expose cross-site data through a redirected data: URL. The DOM content-process selector assigns a redirect-created data: document to the redirecting site's process instead of isolating it separately. Exploitation requires user interaction, a site that permits open redirects, and a Spectre-like in-process attack; the bounded consequence is cross-site data disclosure.
