Stored script execution via unescaped RSS titles
Published Jun 5, 2023 · Updated Jan 8, 2025
Stored XSS in DokuWiki before 2023-04-04a allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a viewer's browser via RSS titles. The rss() method in inc/parser/xhtml.php assumes SimplePie escaped feed titles and appends get_title() output directly to the XHTML document when an item has no link. Low-privileged access must permit RSS content to be embedded, and a user must view the rendered wiki page for script to run in that user's browser.
