CVE-2023-34400

Head-unit crash via missing header terminator

Published Feb 13, 2025 · Updated Mar 18, 2025

NULL pointer dereference in libspeech in Mercedes-Benz NTG6 2021 and earlier allows attackers to crash the head unit via a crafted USB profile. The profile importer searches for a header and converts it to a null-terminated string without handling a missing terminator, causing a null pointer dereference. Physical access to the exposed vehicle USB service is required; triggering the flaw interrupts the infotainment system without reported data disclosure or modification.
