CVE-2023-34395

Code execution via connection-supplied ODBC driver

Published Jun 27, 2023 · Updated Oct 7, 2024

Argument injection in Apache Airflow ODBC Provider before 4.0.0 allows local users to execute code through a controlled ODBC driver value. OdbcHook accepted the driver parameter from mutable connection extras and passed the selected library identifier to pyodbc, which loads the dynamic library. Exploitation requires control of Airflow connection metadata and execution of a task that uses the altered connection, granting code execution in the task process.
