CVE-2023-34394

SYSTEM code execution via unvalidated firmware-package path

Published Jul 19, 2023 · Updated Oct 28, 2024

Path traversal in Keysight N6854A Geolocation Server 2.4.2 and earlier allows local users to execute code with SYSTEM privileges. The deleteFirmwarePackage function uses a user-supplied path in privileged file operations without validating its destination. Low-privileged code execution is required; crafted paths can also delete any file or directory and interrupt the service.
