Code execution via dangling Figure object reference
Published Oct 19, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Use-after-free in the Figure stream parser in JustSystems Ichitaro 2023 1.0.1.59372 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted JTD file. The parser stores a Figure object in an array before decoding, frees it after a block error, then dereferences and writes through the dangling array entry. A user must open the malicious file; JustSystems reports only demonstrated abnormal termination, while Talos reports code execution.
