Account takeover via reusable password-reset links
Published Sep 7, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Weak password recovery in Soar Cloud System HR Portal 7.3.2023.0510 and 7.3.2023.0705 allows remote attackers to take over accounts. The password-reset handler accepts the same emailed reset URL after the password changes and after the token's intended expiration. Possession of a reset URL from browser history or the communication channel is sufficient to replace the linked account's password and then access that account.
