CVE-2023-34348Network attack vector

Unauthenticated message-subsystem crash

Published Jan 18, 2024 · Updated Oct 21, 2024

Improper exceptional-condition handling in AVEVA PI Server 2023 and 2018 SP3 P05 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash its message subsystem. AVEVA identifies the affected locus as the PI Message Subsystem but has not published the exceptional condition or input operation that triggers the crash. Network access to the subsystem on port 5450 is sufficient, and successful exploitation interrupts message processing without reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
