Authenticated shell command execution via SPX REST API
Published Jun 12, 2023 · Updated Jan 3, 2025
OS command injection in AMI MegaRAC SP-X branch 12 before 12.7 and branch 13 before 13.5 allows remote authenticated users to run shell commands. The SPX REST API incorporates attacker-controlled request data into an operating-system command without neutralizing shell metacharacters; AMI has not named the endpoint. Administrative BMC privileges are required; injected commands can read or alter BMC data, interrupt service, or take control of the management controller.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
