CVE-2023-34340Network attack vector

Unauthenticated access via invalid cached credentials

Published Jun 21, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024

Improper authentication in Apache Software Foundation Apache Accumulo 2.1.0 allows remote attackers to authenticate with invalid credentials via the user authentication process. The process incorrectly accepts invalid passwords when validating cached credentials, bypassing intended credential checks. The service must be reachable over the network; successful exploitation grants access as the authenticated user and can expose or alter Accumulo data according to that account's permissions.
