CVE-2023-34338

Cryptographic compromise via hard-coded certificate key

Published Jul 5, 2023 · Updated Nov 21, 2024

Hard-coded key use in American Megatrends International MegaRAC SP-X before 12.3 allows attackers to read or alter BMC data. The BMC uses a fixed cryptographic key associated with a hard-coded certificate, but AMI has not disclosed the certificate's role or trigger. Exploitation requires adjacent-network access, user interaction, and high-complexity conditions; success can also interrupt BMC service.
