Privilege escalation in Tencent QQ through 9.7.8.29039 and TIM through 3.4.7.22084 allows local users to obtain SYSTEM access. QQProtect.exe and QQProtectEngine.dll trust attacker-controlled pointers received through inter-process communication, enabling writes to arbitrary addresses in the SYSTEM service process. Low-privileged access is enough to overwrite a function pointer, execute a ROP chain, and run code as NT Authority\SYSTEM.
