CVE-2023-34307Network attack vector

Code execution via unchecked VC6 buffer write

Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in Ashlar-Vellum Graphite 13.0.46 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted VC6 file. The VC6 file parser fails to validate user-supplied data before writing into an allocated buffer, permitting a write past its end. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open the file, and successful code runs in the context of the current process.
