Code execution via malformed DCM file
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Santesoft LTD Sante DICOM Viewer Pro before 12.2.4 allows context-dependent attackers to execute code. The DCM file parser insufficiently validates user-supplied data before writing it into an allocated object, permitting a write beyond the object's boundary. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and resulting code runs in the current process context.
