Code execution via unchecked X_B or X_T parsing
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Ashlar-Vellum Cobalt before 12.0.1204.54 allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted X_B or X_T files. The X_B and X_T parsers fail to validate user-supplied data before writing it past the end of an allocated buffer. Execution occurs in the current process only after a user visits a malicious page or opens a malicious file.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
